WOWI Giving Tree Recap of 2023 

Well, that's a wrap! Literally.

 

We thank everyone who donated gifts for our Giving Tree this year. The generosity of our members and friends is just heartwarming.

Special thanks to our Giving Tree chairwoman, Sue Cosentino, and her beautiful elves, Barbara Mariarossi, Michelle Hill and Maureen DiStefano for wrapping, shopping and delivering, and to the school social workers for all of their hard work and dedication. Bless you all. ❤️ So many children will get to experience the magic of Christmas morning thanks to YOU. 

 

Here are pictures of the gifts that were so generously donated for the WOWI Giving Tree 2023. With your generosity, 20 families will wake up to a magical Christmas morning.

 

 

Also, beautiful "Christmas Breakfast Bags" were shopped and prepared by member Diane Trommer on behalf of WOWI. Each family will receive all the fixings for a bountiful Christmas morning breakfast. Each bag includes coffee cakes, oatmeal, pancake mix and syrup, hot chocolate, juice boxes and Carnation instant breakfast. These bags will be given to some of our West Islip families through the School Social Workers. We also would like to thank Lynn Miller for her generous donation for all the items in the bags and Donna Marano for donating all of the bags for us to fill

 

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Helene Tsouprakos and The South Shore Childrens Center (West Islip) for their generous donation towards supermarket gift cards. Every year, Helene, her staff, and the families from SSCC are always so generous to WOWI and the families who are in need. Bless you.

ABOUT WOWI Giving Tree 2023 

It is time to start our annual Giving Tree! Once again, we will run our Giving Tree via email. We greatly appreciate any contribution you are able to make. There are multiple ways to give, so please read the instructions below.

If you would like to participate, please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

In the email, please include your name and phone number. 

Then let us know if you’d like to:

• purchase a gift 

• donate a gift card

• make a cash donation and we will shop for you. Go to DONATE and choose the VENMO link.

If you’d like to purchase a gift, we will email you the information within 24 hours. Once you purchase the gift, please wrap it, and put a post-it or tag it with the information emailed to you.

Example: Family A, Girl Age 6, clothes

If you’d like to donate a gift card, Target, CVS, Rite Aid, Bob’s, Amazon, Kohl’s, Stop n Shop or King Kullen are great choices. You can choose the amount.

Monetary donations can be sent via Venmo to WomenOf-WestIslip and please write Giving Tree in the description.  

Please drop off gifts/gift cards on or before Tuesday, December 13th, so that we can organize and distribute them. Our WOWI holiday get together will be held at the Lion’s Den on December 13th at 6:30pm, so join us and bring your gift with you!
